Bob Bramley was posted to India in 1943 alongside many of the troops from the North East of England and made
the rank to Sergeant later finding himself in Burma where he served in the transport service corps.
Again like many others he was to remain
there for three years and didn't return
until 1946 a year after the war had finished.

He was then demobbed and returned to the North East where he remained until 1959 when he brought his family to Calverton Colliery until retiring.

Bob recently received a 'Veterans Badge'
from the Ministry of Defence for services to the country during World War II. He is very proud of this honour.
